If the jail says the person entered state custody, move to NCDAC Offender Public Information. A state admission after leaving the county jail is a transfer. It is not a same-day Montgomery County community release. The state profile may later record an actual prison release and continuing supervision.

Montgomery County Release or Transfer
The word "out" can hide several outcomes. A person released on bond has left the jail while the case continues. Time served ends the custodial part of a sentence, but probation or another case may remain. Ask two questions every time: when did Montgomery County custody end, and what was the destination or legal disposition?

No public cadence or retention window is published. Historical availability must be confirmed with the records custodian. North Carolina retention schedules, holds, audits, or other duties may affect what remains, so no fixed number of days should be assumed.
Montgomery Sheriff App Limits
Montgomery County does have an official Sheriff app. Its storefront description identifies an OCV outreach tool for tips, reports, and interactive communication. It does not promise an inmate roster, recent-release list, or booking-photo module. The app therefore cannot replace the detention phone, a records request, or SAVAN for same-day release confirmation.

A similarly named web portal can cause a worse error. The CountyGovServices result for Montgomery is tied to Montgomery, Alabama, and it describes recent arrests, not North Carolina releases. It must not be used for this county. Checking the agency address and state is a basic part of every release search.
Montgomery State Release Results
NCDAC maintains a separate monthly Inmate Release Search. It can filter by release county, year, and month, with Montgomery listed as county option 62. Observed results contained offender number, name, release date, primary offense and qualifier, and release type. The year choices roll over time, so readers should use the choices shown by the live form.
This is a state-prison tool. It does not list everyone who left Montgomery County Detention Center today. A monthly result can be checked manually for the prior day, but that changes neither its state population nor its monthly source window.
